Special Note to Out-of-State Students While the Office of Financial Aid does not have sufficient funds to meet the full demonstrated financial need of nonresident students directly, those students who are eligible for scholarships from University of Michigan schools or colleges or private sources, may be able to cover their costs through these combined resources. Other options often used by nonresident families are Federal Direct PLUS Loans and private loans.
